Vincent & Eileen Coy Scholarships: Halifax Council 1097 of the Knights of Columbus invite applications for a Vincent & Eileen coy scholarship from students enrolled in High School anticipating graduation this year. The scholarships are available for a fund bequeathed to the Knights by the late Vincent Coy, a former member of council 1097 to assist Catholic students in peninsular Halifax interested in pursuing a University or community college education. Students attending parishes outside the metro area with a parent or guardian who is a member of Halifax Council 1097 may apply. Application forms, available through the parish office, accompanied by supporting documents (outlined on the form) must be in the hands of the Scholarship Committee not later than April 15th, 2010. Parking Courtesy: We have received several complaints from the residents of Stuart Graham Drive and other side streets around the Church regarding the blocking of Driveways when parishioners are using the street to park for Mass. Stuart Graham, as well as all the other side streets in the Halifax area are subject to bylaws and these bylaws must be observed. Please, if you do park on a side street consider the persons who live there and do not block driveways or impede the progress of any emergency vehicles if they should need access to the road or driveways. Just a reminder: If you know of anyone that is in the hospital or if you have a scheduled hospital stay coming up please call the office and let us know! |
